What is it like to live in Greensville?
Greensville puts some of the region's best-known waterfalls on your doorstep: Webster's Falls and Tew's Falls in the Spencer Gorge, with the Dundas Peak lookout and the Bruce Trail. Dundas's main street, McMaster University and Highway 403 are a short drive down the escarpment. The trade-off is weekend visitor traffic near the falls, which the conservation authority manages with parking reservations at busy times.
What should buyers check?
Properties near the gorge, creeks or the escarpment edge can fall within Hamilton Conservation Authority regulated areas and the Niagara Escarpment Commission's development control, both of which can require permits for additions, pools or grading. Some homes are on private wells and septic systems, so check which services the house uses and test accordingly. On sloped lots, look closely at drainage and retaining walls.
