Living in Moffat
Milton, ON
What is Moffat like?
Moffat is quiet countryside, a mix of farms, woodlots and homes on larger lots, part of the former Nassagaweya Township that joined the Town of Milton in 1974. Highway 401 is close for commuting east or west, and Campbellville's shops and services are a short drive. Because only a few homes come up for sale, a saved search is the best way to catch new listings. For the wider area, see rural Nassagaweya and Campbellville.
What should buyers check?
Out here, water comes from a private well and waste goes to a septic system, so build both into your conditions: a lab test for bacteria and a flow test for the well, and a pumping and inspection report for the septic. Being close to Highway 401 is handy but can mean road noise on some lots, so visit at different times of day. Working farms nearby can bring early-morning machinery, manure spreading and slow-moving equipment on the roads, which is part of rural life to weigh up.
