Northshore Townhouses is the townhome part of Northshore, a newer community by National Homes on the Plains Road corridor in Aldershot, in Burlington's LaSalle area near the bay. The eight-storey Northshore Condos tower stands right beside it.

Homes range from about 800 to 1,400 square feet, with two or three bedrooms. That's more room than many new condo suites, which suits couples and small families.

Ask what the monthly fee covers, and which shared spaces, if any, townhome owners can use in the tower next door. That varies from community to community.

Aldershot is quiet and green. The Royal Botanical Gardens are a short drive west, and LaSalle Park and its marina sit on the bay. Grocers and restaurants line Plains Road in both directions, including the Bulk Food Warehouse and District Kitchen + Bar.

Commuters use the nearby Aldershot station for trains in either direction. By car, the QEW and Highway 403 are a few minutes off.
