Phoenix Condos is a 27-storey tower by Menkes Developments, built in 1990. It stands at 550 Webb Drive in Mississauga's City Centre, at the western end of Webb Drive. It has 344 suites.
Suites are larger than most new downtown units. They range from about 700 to 1,400 square feet. Plans include a one-bedroom with a den, two-bedrooms and two-bedrooms with a den. Couples, small families and downsizers who want space near Square One often buy here.
The amenities reflect the era. There is an outdoor pool, courts for tennis and squash, an exercise area, a media lounge and a room for parties. A concierge staffs the lobby, and there is bike storage.
Know this before you buy: the corporation bans pets. That is uncommon downtown. If you have a pet, confirm the current rules or look at other towers. Maple Ridge Community Management runs Peel Condominium Corporation 409.
